Before you start any conversion project, you have to identify which car to be modified. Any sedan can be converted to run on electricity and the best one are the type which is light weight and has ample storage. For example, an old VW Beetle is perfect to be retrofitted into an electric vehicle. The idea is to replace the internal combustion engine with an electric drive motor. The motor will get the electricity from multiple lead flooded batteries stored in the back of the car. To control the flow of electricity current to the motor, an amp regulator is used. The regulator functions as an accelerator paddle of the car. Finally, the whole system is to be connected to a central circuit board. The circuit board will monitor the motor, the batteries power level and also acts as a cut off switch if there is a power leakage.
